Well as we arrive home from filling our school desks with all of the brand new supplies I sit and wonder how long will it take my second grader to tell me that she needs new crayons or my third grader a new folder. How ever I am thankful and now have just realized that the whole chore of SCHOOL LUNCHES starts too......yikes and so it begins.!

~~ TIP~~         Use crock-pot while camping/fishing

There are so many times that we venture out as a family on a trip and it requires all of us to be on a boat all day....as you fishermen know there are different times when fishing is better then others. Well it only took me 10 years to think of using my crock pot on our vacations. In the morning once I have made our great big breakfast (never really happens while we are at home unless it is at a restaurant) haha. I then take the 15 mins to throw all of the fix'ns needed for a recipe into the crock and let it go then when we come home sometimes as late as 10pm from fishing we can dig in. Don't get me wrong I pack a fare amount of snacks for the boat so my kids have something to chomp on but when we get back we are tired and hungry. That is when we can pull the top of the crock and enjoy. Hope this little tip helps you...if you have some great camping crock recipes feel free to share...~BLESSINGS~

Journey back home

My family and I took a week long trip (longest trip yet) to the Smokey Mountains in North Carolina. While we were there my heart sang with a joy it had never sung before. It has encouraged me to work toward leaving this crazy, hectic, stressful life that we lead in Illinois and live a slower life inNorth  Carolina. I want to use this blog to post ideas, recipes and tips...
